Experts debate pandemic impacts on Informatics

It is too early to clearly design the post-pandemic future of the new coronavirus, but it is very likely that life will be profoundly transformed after one of the most impactful episodes in recent human history. To debate the reflexes of this crisis, the Paula Souza Center (CPS) launches the Transformations of the labor market series , which will present the bets of specialists for the new configurations of professional activities. In this first article, the theme is Informatics.

For the professor of the Digital Games course at the Faculty of Technology of the State (Fatec) Carapicuíba Álvaro Gabriele, the games area is one of the few that are being greatly benefited by the health crisis. "The market is well heated, the number of downloads has been increasing", he says. "There are a lot of people taking advantage to play."

In addition to the game production itself, Gabriele sees other opportunities for professionals with this training. "There will be great demand for meetings and events in virtual environments", he believes. According to him, there is the possibility of working with the creation of three-dimensional space and also with gamification. "At a fair, for example, you could get points and prizes during audience participation."

The educator highlights another important aspect that distance work has brought to those working in the digital field, which is also valid for professionals in all areas. “The market already valued soft skills , known as behavioral skills”, he says. “Remote work, however, makes the ability to work as a team, creativity and empathy to relate to distance even more.”
